Our Programs

Global Glimpse programs expose youth to other countries and cultures and unlock their potential to affect change on a local and global scale.

“What your program offers our students is life-changing. You plant a seed of possibility in the minds of our students. They return with a deep belief in what they can do.” – Vito Chiala, Principal, Overfelt High School, East San Jose, CA

Global Glimpse Program Components

Global Glimpse Programs

Our Global Glimpse programs begin with engaging pre-trip workshops led by Global Glimpse staff and trained educators at our partner high schools. These workshops prepare students with a base of understanding on leadership, globalization, service learning, and cultural understanding. During the 14-day travel immersion program students are involved in hands-on learning, guest speakers, field trips, community engagement activities, and service-learning projects that allow them to gain a deeper understanding of the following curriculum themes:

  • History
  • Culture
  • Education
  • Deconstructing Poverty
  • Global Business
  • Politics
  • Human Rights
  • Aid and Development
  • Immigration

Building Knowledge

Our academic themes are studied and analyzed as they relate to the Dominican Republic, Panama, Ecuador, or Costa Rica, and the role of the United States. Students keep detailed journals throughout the program and gather every evening to discuss and reflect on the day’s learning.

The pre-trip workshops, summer immersion, and alumni components of our program ensure that the knowledge and confidence that students gain translate into lives, and leadership in their home communities, as well as increased academic engagement throughout high school and into college.
