Our Programs
Global Glimpse programs expose youth to developing countries and unlocks their potential to affect change on a local and global scale.
“What your program offers our students is life changing. You plant a seed of possibility in the minds of our students. They return with a deep belief in what they can do.” – James Robertson, Academic Dean, Lionel Wilson Prep, East Oakland CA
Global Glimpse Program Components

Our Global Glimpse programs are 2-years long and begin with engaging pre-trip workshops led by Global Glimpse trained educators at our partner high schools. These workshops prepare students with a base of understanding on leadership, globalization, aid and development, and international relations. During the 14-day summer immersion program. students are involved in seminars and lectures, field trips, reality challenges, and community action projects that address the following curriculum themes in depth:
- History
- Culture
- Education
- Deconstructing Poverty
- Global Business
- Politics
- Human Rights
- Aid and Development
- Immigration
Building Knowledge
Our academic themes are studied and analyzed as they relate to the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, or Costa Rica, and the role of the United States, and the developing world in general. Students keep detailed journals throughout the program and gather every evening to discuss and reflect on the day’s learning.
The pre-trip workshops, summer immersion, and alumni components of our program ensure that the knowledge and confidence that students gain translate into action projects in their home communities and increased academic engagement throughout high school and into college.
