Hello Global Glimpsers and families!
My name is Tyan Wilson and I am one of your Global Glimpse Leaders (GGL) for this trip! I am beyond excited to embark on this journey with you all to the beautiful, luscious Turrialba, Costa Rica!
This will be my first year leading a trip but not my first trip with GG! My first time traveling outside of the country alone (without family) much like many of you, was with GG. I traveled to Granada, Nicaragua and until now, I still share how impactful that GG trip has been on my life, and much is the reason for my passion and pursuit of working in education. I hope this trip will be inspiring and just as impactful to you all and you will learn and grow as individuals and create unforgettable memories! After that trip, my love for GG grew even more and I became a GG alumni Ambassador, which I hope many of you will also become after your trip! Just last summer, I worked as alumni intern for GG and one of my tasks was managing these very blogs (so it feels good to be back on here, a full circle moment! ).
A Little More About Me!
I was born and raised in the East Bay Area, which will always be home for me! I have experience working with youth in education and community/ nonprofit work. I am an intuitive healer of my community, an educator, and a creative. I love to travel! My favorite place I’ve traveled to so far has been Thailand where I did a study abroad internship teaching elementary Math and English. I love learning about cultures and experiencing new things when I travel, and we will be doing so throughout this trip! When I am not traveling and experiencing new things you can find me trying new food spots, I’m a huge foodie and I love to cook and spend time in nature, especially by the water. Some of my hobbies include film photography, studying astrology, and reading.
I can’t wait to meet you all in less than 2 weeks and experience the Pura Vida in Costa Rica! Until then,
GET READY, GET EXCITED!
Big Love, ♥️
Tyan
It’s so neat to have you back as a GGL with us Tyan, full circle!!! This is a great intro, I love the photo and selfishly I LOVE the alumni ambassador plug! We’re lucky to have another alum like yourself as a trip leader this year, especially one like you that is so passionate about global education.
