Hello- Jinotega 6/5!!

Hi, my name is Florence DeKoven, and I am one of the GG Leaders on the June 5-25 Jinotega delegation! We are ONE WEEK AWAY from Jinotega! ! I teach English and Student Leadership (ASB) at South San Francisco High School.  I am super excited for my first visit to Nicaragua (and first time participating in Global Glimpse.) I recently had my first Nicaraguan meal when I met up with the other GGs going on my trip, and I must say, it was a great first impression. I am looking forward to learning more about Nicaraguan culture, especially the food. 🙂 Tambien hablo espanol- I am hoping to have lots of opportunities to practice it on the trip. I can’t wait to get to know everyone more in the weeks to come!

    We are so excited to meet you all of you guys, we have been working so hard in order to have everything ready for you. Nicaragua and especially Jinotega are waiting for you for this amazing experience. We just want to remind you to bring warm clothing because it can get pretty cool in Jinotega.

    We have put all our effort to ensure that this program will be such a great experience for all you. We look forward to meet you and get to know you as well.

    We (Alanna White’s parents) hope the group arrived safe and sound and that everyone got some sleep on the red eye flight!!! We wish everyone the best on their first day in Jinotega. We miss Alanna already!!

    We are very excited for Daphne (Pineda) for this trip. Its gonna be tough not having her around for 3 weeks, but we know that she’s in very capable hands, and that she’ll be a much better person when she returns. We wish the entire group a merry and safe trip to and from Jinotega.     I hope the group enjoy this experience being on their own so far. This will be a great experience for Christian Poon especially he doesn’t know what to expect . When he returns, I’m sure he will be able to make more decisions on his own, and taking care of himself. I know Christian is having a good time there with all of you.
