Hello Glimpsers!
My name is Tony Schmidt, I am another one of your Global Glimpse Leaders that will be going to Costa Rica with you. For most of you we had a brief moment to interact before now and I am looking forward to working with you on this trip.
This is my first time traveling on a Global Glimpse trip and just like any other new experience I am excited but also filled with that nervous energy. Even though I have not traveled with GG before, working with Liz and Cassidy and the other Global Glimpse staff makes me super excited to go.
I am a parent to two kids one is entering 6th grade and the other is entering 1st. As they get older it is amazing to see their growth and how much seeing the world around them changes them. I am hoping that things like Global Glimpse are something that they are interested in when they are of age to go.
I have been a teacher for 11 years now and have worked with students as part of sports, research opportunities, and as a robotics coach. As I have worked with students there is a distinct difference between those that have had the opportunity to travel and those that have not, I am excited to be a part of your journey. I have traveled mostly in the US hiking, camping and climbing, but have also had the opportunity to to travel to Mexico and Greece.
I am really looking forward to working with you and to experience a different environment than the one that I regularly travel in.
