Quotes of the day-

” The more you know about the past, the better prepared you are for the future” Theodore Roosevelt

“A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people” Mahatma Gandhi

Today’s theme was History and Culture, we met amazing people such as Jimena and Azucena (you will find out who they are later). Being the ELDD was at first kind of scary because I was leading a group but after a while it become really easy. My fellow glimpsers  were amazing , very encouraging and were such a great team to lead and I loved it.

One of the highlights of the day was learning more about the organization that we will be helping, which is named Casa de la Mujer.  The director’s name is Azucena. The mission at Casa de la Mujer is to reinforce equity for women in the community and to help domestic violence victims. The members of Casa de la Mujer want to bring life at the shelter so that people will be more open to go there which we are more than happy to help with.
