The day started with music, and Glimpsers were woken up by the sweet sound of my guitar then had a great breakfast. As our dishes team helped with cleaning the dishes, the rest of the team got ready to do our first city tour.

The city tour started with a friendly visit to the firefighter department with a warm introduction and demonstration by Lieutenant Jose Martin Reyes. Glimpsers were able to slide down the pole like real firemen would do and also use the firefighter’s hose. We continued to walk around town showing them all the little cozy places, supermarkets, and the Saman tree. To finish our city tour, we had traditional ice cream from “helados Ivon” and it was absolutely delicious.

As we move forward through the itinerary, we had our culture day at Bohios Campo AƱil where Glimpsers were shown traditional customs, how to prepare our traditional casabe, how coffee was brewed by our ancestors, and the cacao plant and its fruit. At that same beautiful place, we had a wonderful traditional meal that everyone loved very much.

We returned to Rancho Ruisenor to have a dance class where students learned the main steps of bachata music, merengue, salsa and a little dembow. Everyone seemed to be enjoying and having fun learning the unique dance moves of these genres.

Once the dance class was over, Glimpsers had free time to spend at the pool, and play table games until dinner was ready. We had our traditional nightly meeting where we chose our next LDD (Lider del Dia), where I got a chance to show a talent and decided to sing a song for the group called “Best Part” by Daniel Caesar, ending our meeting on a nice note.
