Hi Families!!
Today’s post is on its way but know for now that it was a loooong day so the full post will be up tomorrow. Today we visited the border state of Elias Piña and saw life on a border community between DR and Haiti. It was hectic, fascinating, and completely enlightening all in one! Your lovely children are safe and sound in their beds right now and I’ll the opportunity to let you know how amazing they have all been during this trip. They have been consistently positive about experiencing new things, compassionate towards each other, and respectfully engaged in learning about culture and life in another country. Thank you all for the love, empathy, and joy you have shared with your kiddos that make such wonderful young people to travel with. I have been consistently impressed with each and every one of them. Katherine and I now completely understand why it must have been so very hard for some of you to say goodbye at SFO! It’s been a privilege to travel with this group of students and learn, grow, and experience Dominican life with all of them. Thanks for helping them make this opportunity a reality!
