Dear friends and family of JA2A,

I want to update you all that your students are currently safely in the air on their way from Newark, NJ to Santiago, DR. As you may be aware, the delegation experienced a series of flight delays throughout the day that resulted in an estimated arrival time 4 hours later than originally planned. They will be arriving around 5:40am Eastern Time (2:40am Pacific Time) and will be picked up from the airport by our international staff as planned.

Thankfully, your young people have shown great understanding and patience during this long travel day. The GGLs sent me this message while they were waiting in Newark: “They’re playing cards, sleeping, and connecting. They’ve all been great!”

If you get a chance before they have their phones collected in the morning, please send your child a kind message of support and gratitude for how high-spirited and resilient they’ve been. We appreciate them! You can also leave your note as a comment below.

Warmly,
Gabriela
