As our thoroughly exhaused students are turning in for bed, I get the pleasure of writing our first trip blog. It’s hard to believe most of our group met for the first time less than 24 hours ago, and we’re already feeling light a tight-knit family! The trip went remarkably smooth so far (with the exception of one missing suitcase – to be delivered tomorrow). Here’s a run-down of our adventure so far:
10:30 p.m. – Checking in for flight at SFO
1:30 a.m. – Waving bye to San Francisco
9:30 a.m. – Arrival in Managua, Nicaragua
10:15 a.m. – Meeting Debbie and Indira – our in-country coordinator & site manager
11:30 a.m. – Boarding bus for Jinotega
2:30 p.m. – Arrived in Jinotega!
(more pictures coming…)
We’ve enjoyed several delicious, local, cultural meals already. It was a day spent meeting our WONDERFUL hosts at the hostel, the chef and his family at “our” restaurant, and of course our dedicated Global Glimpse in-country coordinators. So much to look forward to. The adventure has just begun!
Thank you for the update. Can’t wait to see more pictures about your trip.
