“I joined Global Glimpse to inspire a new generation of leaders and ended up being the one inspired by their vision, creativity, and willingness to make a difference in this world.” – Emily Stuyvers, Ecuador Program Coordinator, 2019

Global Glimpse provides powerful international travel and leadership opportunities to high school students from diverse backgrounds. Often, this is the first time that a student is traveling without their family and this may be their first time on an airplane. This immersive experience in a developing country is transformative, as Glimpsers push themselves and one another out of their comfort zone.

Our incredible staff and educators serve as the backbone of this transformation, ensuring that students are supported throughout their journey. Our Program Coordinators (PC’s) in the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Panama create safe spaces for students to think critically, explore new perspectives, and discover their self-confidence.

“As a Program Coordinator, I was able to inspire my Glimpsers and watch them grow as global citizens. I got to be a part of their journey – to laugh with them, get to know them, and learn from them. I watched my students overcome their fears and gain the understanding that there are no limits to what they can do. Glimpsers learned on the trip that we alone cannot change the world, but together we can create a better one.” – Francis Garcia, DR Program Coordinator, 2017-2019

PC’s have the unique opportunity to live in-country and engage directly with multiple delegations throughout the summer, meeting high school students and educators from all over the United States, as well as fellow PC’s and community partners from around the world. After three months of training and certification, PC’s are empowered to design and lead Global Glimpse’s international curriculum focused on cultural immersion, service learning, and leadership development.

Global Glimpse has a strong track record of hiring PC’s for full-time positions and currently 30% of our full-time staff are former-PC’s, including our Executive Director Eliza! This past summer Carissa Villafaña served as a PC in Constanza, DR and now works as our full-time Bay Area Program Coordinator. In this role, she has the privilege of preparing 700 new Glimpsers for travel this summer and supporting 200 Alumni Ambassadors across 50 schools in the region.

After six months in the Dominican Republic with Global Glimpse, my belief is that every one of us is a true leader and a change maker. Being a Program Coordinator taught me that I have passion and valuable skills to share with the world. It wasn’t long before I was kickstarting local governments into action and conferencing with community officials. The Global Glimpse experience taught me to love authentically, care selflessly, and live with no regret.” – Carissa Villafaña, DR Program Coordinator, 2018

We will soon be hiring our new class of PC’s to live and work in one of our three countries (DR, Ecuador, Panama) for a period of six months. Candidates must be bilingual and be able to commit full-time from March-August, 2020.
