Hi, I’m Margarita David, one of the GGLeaders for the trip to Bonao that will start up very soon.  I am a veteran Social Studies teacher at Greenwich High School, having been there for 15 years.  I am excited to be putting all my classroom lessons about diversity, activism, development and interconnectedness into direct action when I go on our trip with my co-GGLeader Asia Franks (check out a picture of the two of us right after our training May)

and 21 awesome young adults from four different schools.  My past summer experiences have taken me to academic seminars throughout the U.S. and Japan.  I’m not an avid traveler, but I know how important a global outlook is as a first-generation immigrant. I believe that the only way to grow is to change, even if it’s just a little bit of your perspective.  That’s why I became a part of Global Glimpse; I wanted to get other educators and students at my school to see that a change in perspective is a powerful thing.

So, I’m just about ready to go!  I hope that a lot of good people will follow this blog to see what fun our group is up to.
