Karilin Here

Hey everyone!

I’m super excited for this trip because I have heard really good stories about it from the seniors that just graduated and am super thankful that I will get to experience a phenomenal trip.

A little bit about myself:

My name is Karilin Yiu and I go to Mills High School. I have an older brother who just recently graduated this year too. I really like playing water polo, swimming, and gymnastics because they are super duper fun and can really help me lose weight. However, out of the three I’m best at swimming because I’ve been competing competitively since I was six and am honored to have been on the Varsity Swim team since freshmen year. I am a big lover of outdoor nature and adventure because I love seeing wild animals so I really like camping and hiking in the woods. I can never resist seeing or petting a dog because they are just so fluffy and cute, especially huskies and golden retrievers. I’m also a musician who plays the piano (typical Asian) and enjoys singing in my shower and choir class. For the past three years, I have been a dancer on the Mills Drill Team and will be a conducting officer for my senior year. One thing interesting about me is that I really like to sniff people:) I don’t like bugs because they are just super scary, and I am a really happy laughable person who is always seeking for funny moments.

I’m involved in multiple organizations throughout my school and community. I am a student ambassador for the Millbrae Chamber of Commerce and the publicist of the Mills Futsal Club (indoor soccer). I am also a current member of the Coastal Clean up team and Arbor Day events for the Department of Public Works of San Francisco.  Additionally, I have participated in Youth in Government for the city council members of Millbrae.

I can’t wait to meet all of you guys and learn something that can change the way I see things!
