Hello to all of the families back in the States. My name is Bijan and I was blessed with the opportunity of being leader of the day on our delegation’s Fun Day. Our day started bright and early at 6 o’clock in the morning. For breakfast, we were served a hearty meal which consisted of fluffy mashed potatoes, fried cheese, and exotic Dominican hot chocolate. After our stomachs were filled we were whisked away in two off-road vehicles courtesy of our drivers Andre and Ramon. Our adventure to the Constanza waterfalls began. On our way up we experienced the lush Constanza mountainside in combination with the crisp morning air. Once we arrived we took pictures, swam, and ate lunch at the truly beautiful waterfall. After, we traveled back to the hotel and embarked on a new adventure to the Arroyazo ponds. At the pond many of us swam, went down a “rockslide”, and made new friends with local Constanza teenagers. For me, making new friends with the locals was the most fun and rewarding part of the trip so far. Despite language being a slight barrier we bonded over sports, food, and T.V. shows. Finally, we wrapped up our day by visiting the local bakery, eating dinner, and conducting our nightly meeting. Overall, everything here in Constanza is teaching me the true meaning of happiness. The people are genuine, hardworking, and passionate despite of the lack of resources they have. Thank you for taking a glimpse into our day and hope everyone is doing well.

Hi Bijan, Jonathan and all Glimpsers! Sounds like you had an amazing day. I can’t wait to see the photos of the waterfall and the other beautiful scenery. I also am curious about the Dominican hot chocolate and having mashed potatoes for breakfast!!! Meeting young people your age and finding connections despite a language barrier must feel amazing. It will be very rewarding for you to bring what you are learning about life and happiness and apply it to your life here in California.
Take care,
Sophia Bijan’s mom
ps. love you Son

Hello Lila!!!!!!!!! That sounds like such an incredible day! What a beautiful picture! I’m really glad that you’re enjoying yourself out in Constanza. Matt, Aviva, Noah, Grandma, and Uncle Ron came for dinner yesterday. Noah is nine now and we talked about you (good stuff, don’t worry, you’re great) Well, keep up all the exotic fun out in the Dominican Republic! I miss you tons. Yesterday I almost started crying when I saw the owl shaped cup that you always drink out of. It’s so different around here; like we’re missing a key piece to our family puzzle.just thought I’d let you know what’s happening around home. Loving you as always, your little sister, Rosalie
P.S. Keep having the awesome adventures!
Reading about the chill day you all had makes me wish I could do something similar. I’m really happy for you all! I hope it keeps getting better. ?
Bri you should make that DR hot coco for us when you get back 6w6
Hello, Everyone! Those waterfalls sound so beautiful! Lila, I’m sure the cold water didn’t keep you out. We had a nice dinner with the relatives last night. You would have enjoyed Noah. He’s nine now and is really a fun kid. Sarah and I are going for a walk soon. She’s stuck in freeway traffic, though – must seem like a distant memory. We’re all curious about what each day will bring. Keep using that sunscreen and bug repellent. Love, Lila’s Mom

Thanks Bijan for the recap of what sounds like an incredibly rich and fulfilling day together! You all look so HAPPY and that brings JOY to my heart. Keep living fully and IN-JOY! ?
Soha: Diego,Maya and Papa send their love. Your dad is being shy about writing in French on the GG blog and I’m (as u know) an oxymoron on my iPhone. We def do not want to be your thorn and will be in touch each day! ? It was so wonderful to read your gratitude log for farmers and sustainable practices that nourish the soil AND for the major acknowledgment of the journey food makes to get to our plates. We are so proud of you sunshine! On t’aime tres fort!!!❤️ BISOUS!!!!
