Today we woke up at 6:00 and ate our local breakfast of Gallo Pinto then left to live with locals for the day. When we arrived to the locals houses’ they immediately welcomed us and treated us as one of their own. We then separated into groups of 2, one Spanish speaker and one non-Spanish speaker, then sent to live with our “Family” for the day.

We walked to our family house and began our day. First off, most of us made tortillas from homemade maize. Then we helped prepare dinner and cleaned the house when we finished. Others went to the river to do laundry, and once we were finished with the main chores, we played games with the children. When the day was coming to an end we surprised the community and had a little party. For this, we had a Pinata for the children and games for everyone to play, ending the day with a group photo and new friends.

Buenos noches from the Glimpsers.
