Hi, my name is Alma Palacios an I am a Glimpser here in Chitré, Panama. Today I learned love. We woke up, had breakfast and reviewed the question of the day. Then, we got ready and walked to the laundry mat. We dropped off our clothes then we went to the shops and looked at the clothes and bought some things. We then walked to the phone booths where there were lots of mini market stores. We got a chance to call home and it was the hardest thing out of the whole day. Everyone was emotional, everyone was crying and had strong emotions. We all supported each other, which was a beautiful moment and everyone got in a group hug, and felt closer to each other in the sense that we all were hurting not seeing our loved ones. Today I learned we all were close and everyone struggled but we struggled together as a group. Most inspiring person I met today was this wonderful man who had his shop of different things. He told us about his work and how he opened his shop every day. He asked us about our group and where it was from. He was the sweetest man and gave us all a flag of Chitré. After calling home and talking with the sweet man we walked to the Matchetaso, a store that sold food and snacks. We all bought lots of snacks and drinks (as you can see in the photos). Being Lider del Dia has, for me, been the best experience ever. It really makes you think about responsibilities that people have and gives you a taste of what responsibility is like. It is really different in the sense of community here in Panama; everyone is so together and willing to help each other.
