93.9 The River’s Monte Belmonte sat down this week to interview a small group of Glimpsers and a GG Leader from Northampton High School who traveled this summer with Global Glimpse.

“I can say with 100% confidence that the Global Glimpse experience changes you. By going on this trip, I had so many amazing experiences.” – Mary Greene, Ecuador

Jett DuVal traveled to the Dominican Republic this summer and shared, “When I first heard about Global Glimpse, I didn’t think the opportunity to travel would be available to me because I come from a low-income background. But then I learned about the scholarships available and I really wanted to apply so I could broaden my understanding of other cultures.”

GG Leader and technology teacher Jeromie Whalen led a delegation to Ecuador this summer. As an educator he shared that it is often difficult to push his students to think at a deeper level. “Global Glimpse is the epitome of learning and education. The curriculum is designed with opportunities for students to push themselves physically and mentally. It’s not just a trip abroad, it’s a leadership program.”

Sebastian Abend traveled to Panama and remains in touch with many Glimpsers he met from outside his hometown. He reflected that meeting a diverse group of young leaders and community members was one of the most valuable parts of the GG program. “If you go on this experience and push yourself out of your shell, you can meet some really great people.”
