Today’s adventure truly started with our trip to the market. When we arrived at the market we met with Don Rafael who is the Vice President of the board that governs the market. He talked to us about how the market was run and how the people in it sell their products and make their daily living. Then we were assigned pairs and we went to different market stalls as part of a competition to see which group could sell the most stuff.

After we finished up selling at the market, we went to Café de las Sonrisas eat lunch and meet with a man named Tio Antonio. He gave us a speech about how he arrived in Nicaragua, and how he established his roots in helping the physically disabled youths of Nicaragua. He emphasized how everyone deserves a chance in life regardless of their innate abilities. He exemplified the 3 C’s that Global Glimpse holds sooo dear in its heart. He left us with the message that being a boss means telling people what to do, but being a leader means making a relationship with people. We wrapped the day with English tutoring in which, along with teaching, we witnessed Amy’s fabulous dance skills! To any parents who are reading along with our daily adventures, we will be visiting an internet cafè en la mañana, so you may be receiving a call at some point tomorrow.

Getting ready to go out and WORK in the market

Thanking Tio Antonio for speaking to our group.

To end today’s blog, we leave you with this beautifully crafted inspirational moment that all of us glimpsers hold dear in our hearts and minds every single day of the trip that we have experienced so far since we got here 6 days ago, Jack’s jokes:

What do you get when a miner and a piano fall down a mineshaft?!

A FLAT MINER!

HA GET IT?! ITS A PUN!

Sorry, its kinda late and we’re tired.

Buenas Noches, Marshall and Jack.
