“The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance to those who have much, it is whether we provide enough for those who have little.” FDR

The highlights of the day was visiting Unidad Educativa Miguel Angel Leon and our CAP presentation. Our visit to Unidad Edcucativa was AWESOME! We talked, played football and basketball with the students of the school! It was cool to talk to people who are our age instead of adults. We chilled and had fun, which was pretty awesome! We met high school students and talked about regular things, as well as seeing an Ecuadorian folk lord dance and ceremony.

On the other hand our CAP presentation was very stressful. If you don’t know what CAP is, CAP is Community Action Project, and our CAP is with the Pusuca Community. We, as A group, decided to break into two groups and within our groups, we divided into Marketing and Advertisement. The marketing group will be building a market for the community to sell their goods to bring revenue and the advertisement group will be advertising the community to help bring in travelers and tourists. The night before the CAP presentation, the two groups got into an argument about splitting money for the CAP and what should be the main focus of CAP, marketing or advertisement. As you can figure much wasn’t done. So when it came time to present WE WINGED IT, lol. However, we came together as a group and winged it and it was an amazing presentation! The community loved our ideas and can’t wait to start working on the CAP!

Our theme today was Poverty, but I felt today’s theme was more like “unity” because we unified as a group to present something we truly still have different views on. The CAP presentation showed that if we are unified as a group we can do anything!

Being ELDD was VERY STRESSFUL, but FUN! Being responsible for a big group of students in a foreign country is stressful but my peers, especially Victoria, Larry, William, Miguel and many others helped me through my day. They gave me very helpful  advice and listened to my worries. I’m truly thankful for all for my peers even if they can be crazy at times, lol!

Thank you for reading my post! I hope you enjoyed it! I just wanted to let you know that your loved ones are safe and sound and are having lots of fun! PEACE AND LOVE 🙂
