Hello Global Glimpsers,

I am Carlene Browne-Hart, and I will accompany you on our trip to Riobamba, Ecuador, as one of your two Global Glimpse Leaders. I cannot wait to meet and talk to you as this will be my first time traveling with Global Glimpse and visiting Ecuador. I currently teach at Mt. Eden High School in Hayward, CA, as an English teacher within the special education department. In the past, before COVID, I would travel to Asia as a visiting instructor. I have worked in China and India for eight summers and have been to Europe, Central America, and various Caribbean islands. I am passionate about learning new things, cultures, and mindsets.

We are about to embark on a new adventure in our lives and be emerged into a culture that may be different than what we are accustomed to. This may be a scary and anxious time for most of you. I hope you open yourself up to this new experience and allow yourself the freedom to explore something different, learn something new and change your mind about the things you told yourself you would/could never do. I believe that life is about opportunities, and this trip will allow us to see ourselves and others differently, so let us be open to it.

I cannot wait to see you all on July 19, 2022!!! Are you excited?

OOPS!!!! Friendly reminder

Double-check your passport to make sure it is valid for six months from the return date of our trip, and the name on your passport matches the name in your portal account.

  • Log onto your GG Portal to review the important trip-specific information.
    • Make sure you can access our flight info on the trip tab of the portal.
    • Read through your portal account’s site-specific and preparation documents (including a packing list and pre-trip student checklist). This also lives in the trip tab.

See you there!
