Hola friends and families of our San Cristobal Glimpsers, I am Flora Maciel, one of the Program Coordinators this year. Just writing this to inform you that all 18 of our students arrived safely to the Dominican Republic! We encountered some delays at the airport but other than that everything went as planned. The students are all very excited to be here and they have demonstrated it by asking lots of questions and keeping a positive attitude despite being tired after their long flights.
Right now everyone is tucked away in their beds getting some much needed sleep. Tomorrow we will all take a tour of San Cristobal and learn more about the history of this area!
The students have one request from you: “can you please tell us the final score of the game between the Warriors and the Cavaliers?”
Buenas noches from San Cristobal!
The Cavaliers won 137 to 116. Glad you all made it safely. Have a fabulous trip!
Hi everyone!! My name is Brandon and I am a former glimpser from Independence High School. Warriors took a beating 137-116, absolute terrible officiating on both ends and the game was not enjoyable for both fan bases despite the Cavs winning. Game 5 on Monday back in the BAY AREAAA! I really hope each of you take something away from this program that you’ll carry with you throughout your lives. Experience, learn, and do something new everyday because you may only be here once. Build new relationships, form new memories, and really try to grow as an individual because this program is like no other. I want to leave you guys with a quote that my in country leader, Denis Vallejos, left my delegation with last year, “Manage with your mind and lead with your heart.” I’ll leave that for each of you to interpret in your own personal ways. Get a good night rest because you’ll need it EVERY NIGHT!! ’til next time its ya boi signing off :))
Can’t wait to hear from you guys from Esteli! Ellen
Hello, May name is Araselis, Kayla’s mom, I am so glad you are all having a great time in San Cristobal. It is a wonderful opportunity to live and learn, building memories that will last forever.
Have fun in everything you do. Love you Kayla!!.
