Hi everyone! My name’s Ella and I am the El Lider Del Dia. Today’s Aid and Development day. We started off with a wake up call at 6:15, and surprisingly, everyone was so easy to wake up! We had our usual breakfast and went back to the hostel to start off with our Aid and Development seminar, which was very inspirational. Following that, we had our CAP (Community Action Project) seminar informing us of our project, which was very exciting! After that, we went right away to Fundacion Cristal, which is a primary school from three to fourteen years old. Right away, we fell in love with them! We separated into six groups and had the chance to get to know them more. They had prepared little cute dances for us, which really got us pumped up! With that, we had a small bus ride to the new school they’re building for them. We had the chance to get to know the place and Fundacion Cristal itself, as it will be the place that we will be working on for our CAP project. We went back to Fundacion Cristal to have a quick lunch there and they were so generous! We had a tamarind juice which I personally miss.
Next stop was Mujeres Ambientalistas! It was a place where they showed us how to make recycled paper, which was amazing. They also had a gift shop, which was full of beautiful notebooks, cards, and bookmark; we couldn’t stop ourselves from buying! After that, we went straight home and we had at least two hours of free time – time that was truly needed as all of us were exhausted. As you can imagine, almost everyone took a nap.
After, we went to dinner, and as usual, they served us delicious food and Tajadas (fried banana chips) that no one can resist. Right away, we went to a Recreation Center and showed each other “how we get down!” We had the chance to meet amazing breakdancers and even had the chance to show them our own moves as we formed a circle, and each (or some of us) showed them how we get down.
All over, today was a very inspirational day for all of us. Seeing how happy and joyful the little kids were gave us so much more excitement about the upcoming project. Even more joyful to see were the volunteers and the workers working at the school. Another awesome thing we experienced today was using recycled papers to make papers! How awesome is that?!
Anyways, thank you for reading, and we are all very tired, but your comments give us so much energy and make us a little less homesick! See you guys tomorrow!
P.S Hey Athena! You actually are commenting everyday (almost). Tell my parents to pick up their phone next time!!! I miss you and everyone.
Hola Sandy! I hope you’re having a good time. Not much is happening back home but the fact that the mariners won against the Colorado Rockies hahahaha so that translates to literally nothing. I just hope that you’re branching out and meeting new people. GG is literally the best thing in the world. Big Love to your leaders and fellow glimpsers for being on this trip. Goodnight and Granada G1B glimpser, out!

Ella! Omg you’re finally the ELDD I miss you so much and I will comment on all of them even if it is late but I love reading about every single day! Today sounds so awesome, did you attempt to break dance??! Hahahaha I would’ve told my dad to get me to the next plane ride there just to see that. I love meeting kids, I bet they were amazing and beautiful, take a lot of pictures with the nonexistent camera you brought! I can’t wait to hear what your CAP project is gonna be! Thanks for mentioning me btw it started to feel like those moments when you bombard your friends with messages but they ignore you so you just look crazy.
Oh I forgot to mention I passed by KFC yesterday and it made me think of you hahaha I have so many stories for you already like how I got fired at aquatech before I even started training lol or about my global glimpse reunion etc I can’t wait to trade stories with you!! I’m gonna need to sleepover just to have enough time to talk and I’ll pass on the message to your parents! ILY!
Nice to read that no one had trouble getting up early! It sounds like another day full of exciting activities. You had happy interactions with local kids, danced with local dancers and ate delicious local food. They will all leave you unforgettable memories. Glad to see that you learned how to make recycled paper. Can’t wait to see how your CAP project is shaping up on the following days!
Keep up the great work! Sleep well and take care!

I love the picture of you guys surrounded by all the students and I hope your delegation continues to have great experiences.

But i am looking forward to hear what you sound like again. But have fun as always, i can’t stress that out enough. Watch yourself and don’t get hurt! And thank you again Ella for the blog! Hey guys!
I’m still so heartbroken about having to leave you guys. I definitely wish I was there and hopping around everywhere. I arrived home around 1am last night, and its been so weird since then! I miss everyone and all of our activities so much that I am starting to make my boyfriend have mini nightly routines with me (he also said everyone seems so great and can’t wait to meet all of you!). I make him do summary of the day, thorns and roses, and big love. Even though I barely had a week to get to know everyone, I can definitely call you guys family. We’ve all grown to know each other with our bonding moments up on the terrace, and I will cherish those moments forever. I already miss Amanda’s jokes, Ella’s laugh, Natalia and Natalie’s insightful comments on everything, and talks with Jeonna before bed. I can’t wait until you guys come home so we can all hang out together. I hope you all have lots of fun, and take some good pics for me!!
I miss you all!
Anne
