A Fun Day (hehe) (dope sauce)

HI! This is Katie and Charlie, reporting from Riobamba.

Today was an adventure, as was every day. We woke up at 6:15 am and had breakfast at Isabel’s (yummers). Then, we headed to Baños without Charlie (shoutout to Emily, the temporary LDD in place of Charlie). It was a rocky two hours with gorgeous mountains on our side (shoutout to Victor, our driver). After that, we went on a hike to visit Pailon Del Diablo, which is “the Devil’s Cauldron” in English. Most of us got soaked (we are safe)!

We headed to the city and ate at Leprechaun Pub Restaurante Cafetería. There we met Charlie again. After the amazing lunch, the group split in two and got to have free time in Baños so we went to the market and chocolate factory. At about 3 pm, the group got into the last ever bus ride with Victor. It was about a two-hour trip back to our hotel, but thanks to Victor, we all got back safely.

After staying at the hotel for a bit, we went to get dinner at Lina. We were served a variety of Mexican food including jamaica, quesabirrias, and burritos. Two dogs followed us all the way from Lina to the hotel. Finally, we ended our day with our usual Nightly Meeting.

Look for tomorrow’s blog which will feature LDDs Niya and Nikki, who are our GGLs!

Hey, this is Charlie, I’m for the most part ok lol

Awesome photos at the waterfall y’all. I love to hear your shoutout to your bus driver, Victor too as that appreciation to folks in country that made your experience special is sooo important. I hope you all have a tremendous close to your trip in your last couple of days. Don’t hesitate to bring back a little extra chocolate to share with GG staff at Ambassador summit #1 next Fall (for any of you that decide to apply) ?

Hi Lola,
What a day. We are exhausted just climbing the walkway, eating Mexican food , getting soaking wet under the waterfall. I never saw such beautiful trees and more trees up to the clouds. The water fall is exquisite. How exciting. And chocolate… what did you have? Hot chocolate????? Ice cream????? Chocolate cake?????? You and all your group are rockstars experiencing uh a beautiful country. Maybe some day we will get to go… sweet dreams with moon beams.
All our love.

Amazing! Really glad to hear everyone is doing well! And yes, I am worried about Charlie’s toes but sounds under control. Can’t wait to have Charlie home and to show him his newly painted room. The shelves are up. The cherry trees are still full of cherries, we can’t eat them all. The apricots are all eaten up but there are plenty of plums left for picking!
Enjoy your final day!!

Love the pictures and wowwww the waterfalls are spectacular!!! I bet chocolate over there tastes better than the ones made in USA. Banos looks like a fun place to visit.
Hope you’re back on your toes, Charlie. Great leadership all around! Kudos!
Love you Elizabeth! Hope you will bring back some chocolate.
