BEACHHHH!

Hi family, friends, and whoever else is reading this! Today was an amazing day. We all had so much fun! Today started with an amazing breakfast which was pancakes, eggs, and fruit. The fruit here is absolutely amazing. Followed by breakfast was what felt like a 30-minute walk to the beach. On the walk, we saw many different restaurants, different types of colorful buildings, flowers, and many crabs on the sidewalk. During our time at the beach, we enjoyed the water, purchasing jewelry from vendors, tanning, playing football, having a water balloon fight, and taking many pictures (which many will be included at the end of the post).

Being leaders of the day was complicated, as we were very tight on time, especially since we had our 4-hour drive back to Constanza. We tried to get the most out of the day so everyone could have fun and enjoy their time in a different part of the DR. Getting everyone’s attention was difficult as the south DR was WAY more hot and humid than in Constanza. As a leader, Mia is more of a hands-on kind of leader where she does not vocalize what she wants for the group and just does what she wants done, whereas Jayla is there to support and compliment that. As leaders, we are most proud that the group was able to keep a positive mindset. When our 4-hour bus ride was over, and we arrived back at Dilenia, we had 2 hours of free time where we played Dominoes and Uno and just laughed to pass the time. After free time we had dinner which was white rice with chicken and vegetable stew that was incredible. That was followed by our routine nightly meeting where we shared the best parts of our day and gave big love to people we wanted to appreciate for the day.
