Today our group learned how tough manual labor can be. We used pickaxes and shovels to dig trenches to help a community get running water. Our group felt concerned about how the people in this community lived without the basic privilege of having running water. The most surprising thing we saw when we started pickaxing, was discovering tough rocks and thick roots under the soil.
We are very proud of the team for getting so far on the first day. We were able to cover most of the perimeter and almost finished digging. We persisted even when we came across those tuff roots. We did not give up and instead worked harder to finish. The workers with the machete were a great help to us and kept the work going. We did not think it would be a daunting task due to the success of our other LDDs, and our group was very cooperative. Anytime one of us told them to go to the bus, everyone would pick up all their materials and water bottles on time. We learned that we were capable of leading a team that made so much progress in the first steps of building a pipeline.
Jennyffer~ holaaa los extraño y ya estoy lista para irme y verlos. Los quiero mucho❤️
