Hi guys! ? Today we woke up bright and early at 7 AM and started our day with a quick and easy breakfast that consisted of cereal and an assortment of fruits. We arrived at the worksite in Monte Coca at 10 AM and split into our two CAP groups for the first half of the workday (10 AM-12PM). Team One helped the construction workers assemble wiring and mix concrete for the home’s foundation at one worksite, while Team Two mixed and put down concrete at the other worksite. At 12 PM we then had lunch which consisted of rice, vegetables, chicken, an assortment of (delicious!!!!!!!!) fruit, and macaroni salad. At 1:30 PM (after playing a few rounds of card and hand games during our lunch) the teams switched worksites and resumed the work of the previous team until 4 PM. After this, we took the gua gua (Dominican word for taxi/bus :P) back to the villa and individually wrote letters of appreciation for Global Glimpse sponsors from 5:30-6 PM. Dinner was held at 7 (after a fun-filled, pool-filled, card-game-filled, nap-filled hour of free time) and we were served barbecue pork, french fries, salad, rice, avocado, and plantains. We finished off the night with a speedy nightly meeting due to the plethora of hungry mosquitos in the pavilion. See you tomorrow with a post from our new Liders Del Dia! (Leaders of the Day)
