Community Action Project Day 2! (No. 5)

Hola!

Today we finished our CAP project, how exciting! Today we completed painting two murals, creating school games, cleaning up the school, and planting some plants. Much paint somehow got onto everyone´s hands but it will come off eventually (let’s hope). We split into two groups once more to finish both murals and both teams did an amazing job!

The great staff at Martiniano Guerrero Freire School gave us each a cup of fruit to enjoy while we continued working. A bit after, our amazing cook Isabel brought us more delicious food on-site. We were able to accomplish everything we had hoped for in this project and more thanks to our outstanding team. After finishing the project, presenting it to Susanita (the principal of Martiniano), and receiving some very cute llama keychains as a gift for our hard work, we went back to the hotel for some free time.

After having some time to ourselves, we went to Roma Santa to get some more tasty food made by the amazing Isabela y Edison. There, a surprise was waiting for Yaretzy and Quentin in honor of their birthdays. Isabel baked a delicious chocolate cake. It proved difficult to blow out the candles (we quickly realized they were trick candles LOL). After eating, we danced until we could no longer dance. We danced to both Ecuadorian and Mexican music. It was a beautiful experience!

At 8:30 pm, we had our nightly meeting when we passed the torch to the wonderful Eden and Sammy. Sammy showed us her juggling skills and Eden showed us her gorgeous fashion designs. We hope to have another great day tomorrow at Chimborazo!

Happy Birthday to Quentin, FELIZ 17!

Lola and friends… happy birthday to your 2 friends. Chocolate cake looks amazing. Put a stamp on a piece and send it to us. The murals are fabulous. What a creative group of illustrators and painters.. then gardening, dancing and more food. I can’t wait to find out what you have been eating and hope you will cook the new tasting food for us. You and your group are all amazing. The school has certainly been made to look more inviting to the teachers and students. Free night is what you all deserved. Off to another place tomorrow. Can’t wait to read all about your day tomorrow. Sdml. Moon beams and jelly beans.
All our love,
Nana and Pop
