Community Action Project: Day 3! (No. 3)

Hey all! Today was our final day of work on our Community Action Project (CAP). We spent most of today at the Centro Educativo Asia María Colón. Since today was our final day, everyone worked extremely hard to finish all they could and make it as detailed as possible. We were able to finalize the trench/drainage system and picked up where we left off with the gardens, benches, and art. Everyone pitched in with the art, and we were able to make two hopscotch games, an alphabet caterpillar, some details around the school, and a beautiful mural. We ended off our project with a very touching moment in the rain and a heartfelt message from the school director. It was very fulfilling to see all our hard work from the past three days come together. Looking forward to returning home soon! -Ry

Greetings to all Global Glimpse readers. As my partner, Ry, said today was our final CAP day helping the community. Everyone gave their best selves and woke up bright and early ready to finish off what we all started. Today as leader of the day “Lider del Dia” I was responsible of making sure everyone was okay and well during our hard work. Instead of seeing people tired and drowsy I saw everyone very passionate and determined to finish the work they have started. The art team were all working very hard to finish their creative and artistic designs for the children and the glimpsers on the bench team were all hard at work switching out roles to make sure everything would be done in time. Although everyone is starting to get homesick and ready to go home we all put those feelings behind us during our working progress so that nothing slows us down because the real reason we are all here is to help make a difference in the community we all chose to come to, Constanza. We were able to accomplish our meta, goal, and we are all very proud and excited we were able to leave our mark in Centro Educativo Asia María Colón as well as happy and hopeful the students will love our work. The church community was very pleased with our work which is combined with the school so we are very ecstatic to know the students’ reactions.

Goodbye from all of us. E<3 -Emmanuel

Brandon, Steve, and Omar, we are all so proud of you back at Animo Watts, and many have been following the blogs! I hope all of the Glimpsers enjoy their last couple of days!
