Day 7:
The wake-up call was at 6:00 AM, Sasha woke up at the peak hours of 5:30, then proceeded to wake everyone up, then lay back down on a couch to go back to sleep for 10 minutes. Daviel was supposed to be up, however, did not wake up until 6:00 AM. Everyone proceeded to get ready for the day and started the day off with some lovely breakfast. The breakfast pancakes, huevos, tostada, and queso.
After breakfast, we headed up to the pavilion to prepare for the rest of the day and played a warm-up game: “Kitty Wants A Corner”. Then, we hopped on the bus and went straight to Rio Grande. We greeted the community and learned about the families that we were going to be working with. I (Sasha) met Irene and her daughters. She was very nice and insisted on us sitting down and relaxing. Although her kindness was very welcomed, we still had work to do. Eventually, we agreed on working together, planting, cooking, mopping, making food, and dancing. It was a nice compromise. After some chores, we headed to lunch to serve food to the community and mingle.
After making sure that all of the community was served, we cleaned up everything and had bonding time with the kids in the community. We played sports with them, we ran around with them, we danced with them – we had lots of fun. The kids were great. They were curious, asked lots of questions, and liked to follow us around and talk to everyone. Unfortunately, we had to leave the kids and begin getting to get on the bus and head back home to our villas. When we got home we had a bit of free time before having our CAP meeting (Community action project meeting). After this meeting, it was time for dinner, where everyone talked and had a great time. When dinner had come to an end, we had a nightly meeting where we spoke about the day and discussed the word and quote of the day. It was then time for the new leaders of the day to showcase their talent and lead the rest of the meeting. We were now left to have free time for the rest of the night until 10:00 PM when some will enjoy a soccer game and others will rest and relax.
P.S. I love you family and Diamond <3 -Sasha

I love that you all have started posting a photo of the leaders of the day while they are writing up the blog post! It makes it feel like I’m seeing them right after they wrote it haha ?
