GREETINGS GG FRIENDS AND FAMILY, from the leaders of the day, Dulce and Sofia! We are now halfway through our Community Action Project and day 2 was a success!
This morning we started the day off at 7 am with some fulfilling breakfast, scrambled eggs, and toast, accompanied by warm hot chocolate and oatmeal milk! By 9 am we were ready to hit the site for another hard day of work. We worked until our arms gave out, and there was no concrete left. Our beautiful teamwork and coordination rewarded us by finishing an hour early, and we even had time for snacks! We made our way back to the accommodation for lunch, in which we had, delicious sancocho and cassave (yum). After a brief rest, we were ready to head back to the site and wrap up our last shift of the day.
Excited and sweaty, we pulled through and mixed and poured some more concrete. As always, our amazing delegation was able to finish an hour early (yet again!) and head back home. Tired and proud we headed home and enjoyed some additional free time before dinner. Some played cards, some caught up on rest and reading, and others were enjoying the sun in the pool…(US!!!).
For dinner, we enjoyed mashed potatoes, Dominican salami, queso frito, and refreshing watermelon. While we ate dinner, we discussed our accomplishments of the day. Soon after, we had our nightly meeting. We talked about our favorite moments of the day and got to share our take on being leaders (which was not easy!)
With each day we become closer and closer together, which makes us sad to know our time together will soon come to an end. To our peers who will read this in the future, thank you for making hard work fun. You all made this trip so memorable! Being a leader is something we will never forget…lol. To close it out, we want to especially thank our amazing delegation leaders and coordinators that have encouraged us to try new things while having fun. We appreciate you!
To our family and loved ones back home, we miss you all so much and can’t wait to see you all soon!!!

Hey Dulce and Sofia, nice to see you guys get so close during this trip!! I miss you so much and it’s crazy how fast time goes I didn’t even realize it was your 11th day already.
