Day 11: Slayed CAP Day 3

Heyy guys its Jeanine and Selene here’s our day today

Today we started the morning with wake-up call at 7 am to the song Passion Fruit by Drake. We woke everyone up and went back every 30 min to make sure everyone was up. We got dressed for our final CAP Day and started to gather breakfast at 8 am. Today we had eggs, toast, and hot chocolate. While eating breakfast we reminisced on all the memories we had created as a group and came to the realization that this was our final whole day. We then gathered everyone at 8:45 am to have a discussion about the norms we have to accomplish as a group. He then headed to finalize the final CAP project which was finishing the final sidewalk for the community.

Even though it was very hot today, we pushed through and ended up getting everything done on time. In the last,3 days we have had a system to ensure that we were efficiently working which was creating lines that consisted of passing buckets of cement. Another example was splitting into groups in which one group would mix cement and one group would gather water from the river. We rewarded ourselves by passing a la tienda which was called el economico. We got our favorite snacks which were dino cookies,platano chips y papas de limon. After la tienda, we headed home to get ready to have a little celebration of our final full day. Our celebration consisted of a banda that played bachata and merengue which is part of the Dominican culture. We ate dinner and we danced the whole time the banda was there. We also had a little celebration for our good friend Freddy (feliz cumpleanos Freddy). We celebrated with brownies and ice cream. Then we started to pick up and get ready for bed.
