Day 13-Closing Reflection and Evaluation

Hey Everyone,

Today is June 17th, the final day of being in Costa Rica! Today was filled with lots of tears and laughter. After a tasty breakfast of French toast made by our favorite cooks, Diego and Dona Vera, we started the final reflection seminar. In the seminar, we participated in activities that concluded our shared experiences and feelings from the trip. We had our final lunch and said farewell to our cooks. Thereafter, we got on the bus to San Jose to prepare for tomorrow’s flight.

Overall, our perspectives on the world have expanded throughout this trip. We stepped out of our comfort zones and improved our self-confidence. People who were shy in the beginning are now the loudest members of the group. The T1A family has supported each other and boosted everyone’s confidence through feedback and encouragement. We have learned so much about ourselves, the local community, and the T1A family. From swimming together in the waterfall to running for the bus, we have something in common now: our Global Glimpse experience. We thank our Program Coordinators, Memo and Dianna, as well as the Global Glimpse leaders, Colin and Nikki, for supporting us along the journey. They are our backbones and pillars of support in times of challenges, and without them, we would not have this incredible trip. Last but not least, we are thankful to our families for believing that we can grow into independent individuals by allowing us to participate in this trip. We will see you soon at SF airport! Adios!

Big Love,

Thy Ha and Dhriti Anandh

Aww I’m glad you had a great trip! I hope you all are able to maintain the friendships you have created and look back at this time feeling that you have grown as a person. Have an amazing flight tomorrow, I hope it isn’t too tiresome!

What a great adventure you all shared. I know you will all remember this trip for the rest of your lives. I can’t wait to hear more about it from Miles.
As a parent, I was a little nervous sending my only child on a trip without us thousands of miles away. I admit I was against the idea at first. But I am glad Miles talked me into going to that first discover meeting at the school. The more information I received and hearing stories from previous Glimpsers I knew that this trip would be a great opportunity for Miles to learn and grow and see a different part of the world.
After reading the blogs, seeing all the pictures and videos and the very brief facetime we had I can already see a more confident & happier Miles, so thank you to Global Glimpse for that ?
Thank you to Colin, Nikki, Memo & Dianna for all you did!
Have a safe flight back and we’ll see you all soon.
