We had an amazing second, full day in Riobamba!
To start the day off, we had a nutritious breakfast including granola, eggs, and fruit. After that, our amazing program coordinators, Paco and Nacho, shared some of the history of Riobamba with us. During our Culture and Safety seminar, we split up into groups to present to each other travel tips. Some groups did posters, others did oral presentations, and others did skits. We drank lots and lots of water to prepare for walking around on our city tour. Exploring the city, we saw many historical sites and tried a local sweet, cholas, which is bread with a brown sugar filling. The group also made a friend on the tour– a friendly dog followed us around Riobamba and was a pleasant (temporary) addition to the Global Glimpse family. We also did our first group reflection and it was great to connect more with our glimpser peers.
Special thanks to all of the Global Glimpse staff, Hotel La Primavera staff, and our driver, Don Fernando. They are taking great care of us glimpsers, we are in great hands!
Tomorrow’s Leader of the Day is Emily! I know she will do an amazing job leading us through our activities. ? Please look out for the blog post from her tomorrow.
