Day 3 – Culture and City Tour (No. 2)

Hello from the Leaders of the Day 3/Activity Day 1,

This is Isabella and Amber, your first Leaders of the Day for the Panama Trip from August 1st to August 14th! This day was such a blast as we learned so much about the rich and fascinating history of Panama. We visited a museum focused on the President of Panama from 1912 to 1924. We learned about the former president’s life, including what he did, wore, and owned. We enjoyed amazing meals prepared and cooked by the wonderful and kind hotel staff, for which we all expressed our gratitude.

We took a tour with our GG leaders to Las Tablas and learned about the historical monuments there. We also received an introduction to the CAP project, which we are all excited to get started on! We enjoyed our own culecos after having some tasty ice cream and playing fun games created by us. Finally, we wrapped up with a relaxing “wind-down” game before passing the torch to the next amazing GG Leaders who will continue our journey.

Being a Global Glimpse Leader was definitely no walk in the park! It was very stressful managing not only ourselves but also 20 other students with bubbly and energetic personalities. Tears were shed, both from happiness and from the stress of managing the timing of events, coordinating locations, and handling the moods of others on the trip. Despite these challenges, everyone was very cooperative and supportive. For our thorns and roses, we received no cons! This was especially surprising as we were the first leaders to step up. Working together, we found that we had excellent chemistry and adapted to each other’s concerns—truly a power team! We couldn’t have done it without each other. It was a journey, but in the end, we persevered!

Global Glimpse has been such a wonderful experience and it is going to get even better! Big love as we blast off onto new heights!
