Day 3- History & Culture

Hola,

My name is Nikki Moore, one of the GG leaders on the trip. I had the pleasure of being Lider Del Dia today. We had another great day here in Turrialba, Costa Rica. We woke up to a great breakfast prepared by Diego and Donya Vera. Then we headed out to Cartago to have a city tour. We learned about the history of Cartago, the churches, the black virgin, and much more. It was all explained by our great guide, Danielle. She even took us on a quick stop to the market where we bought ice cream.

Our next stop was eating lunch at Santuario restaurant in Cartago. It was very fulfilling. After lunch, Oscar, our bus driver, got us back to the base house safe and sound. We really enjoyed listening to music on our ride there and back. We enjoyed some free time and worked on getting to know each other better. Right after dinner, it started pouring. Luckily, we were in the house about to start our nightly meeting. The rain just meant we had to practice projecting our voices during the meeting. I was happy to pass the torch to our first GG LDD´s, Miles and Evander. Be on the look out for their blog post tomorrow.
