Friends and families of T2A Glimpsers – sorry you weren’t seeing the last few blogs from your group. Due to a small technical glitch (now fixed) they were being posted in another blog category. Please enjoy their last two blogs and expect to be seeing trip blogs more regularly posted from this fantastic group! – GG Staff
Today, we learned about our CAP (Community Action Project) goal. Our goal is to paint the school with bright colors, so kids will be more enthusiastic to learn. The school is a small and only has two teachers; this is the first time this school will get volunteers to do work for them. We will use paint rollers instead of machines. Our group leader, Alejandro, said all the kids are excited to meet the students. We will have 3 days to do work in the school, so we may not finish painting the school but we will be the first one’s to start.
After we learned about what we were gonna do as our CAP we had our first guest speaker come talk to us. His name was Rodrigo Mendez and he was very inspiring he was telling us a lot about how we can make a difference and even if we don’t finish it we do still make a difference. He also taught us about the 17 goals for sustainability and then we played a game based on them we had to act out the specific goals too our opponent and hope they didn’t guess what goal; we were acting it out.
It was a great day and we are looking forward to our project and the impact it will have on this school and the community!
