¡Hola! Today was started comfortably (and optionally) at 8:45. The group had the option of using our morning warm-up time to do a guided meditation with me (Knox). This morning’s meditation was focused on healing and energizing the body, in relation to a previous meditation that everyone severely enjoyed. ?
Then, mandatory wake-up call for the laggers of the group was 9:00, with a beautiful and yummy breakfast of jamón y queso sandwiches, pancakes, sausage, eggs, mangu, fruits, an arrangement of beverages, and toast with jam at 9:30. Breakfast was punctuated with a rather stressful laundry mess-up, which was admirably solved by the lovely leaders, and a small gift from me and my co-leader of the day (Priscilla) which was affirmations. There were five possible printed affirmations, which were folded and placed in a small bag to be picked, one each, by the glimpsers. Both Priscilla and I had them listen and affirm these affirmations, along with a humorous and very loud affirming of “I AM SURROUNDED BY LOVE AND SUPPORT!!!”, three lovely times.
Then, there was an hour of free time, which most glimpsers spent inside today, alongside the beginning of the calls home. There were a lot of high emotions today, but everyone, being the loving and caring group that they are, made sure everyone was checked in with and accounted for after the calls, Everyone, and I mean everyone, dearly misses home, and no matter how much fun we have in a day, home and our loved ones waiting for us there will always be in the back of our minds.
Then we had a light lunch at 12:00 pm consisting of fried fish, salad, plantain chips, arroz y habichuelas, and piña colada or water for a beverage. After lunch, and a small announcement of the weather and necessities for our trip, we left on the bus to the center park of Constanza at 1:00 pm.
Once we got off the bus, the group separated into smaller groups of 4. My group went off on their own whilst the other groups merged into one large group once more. The glimpsers did things like shop for clothing, jewelry, and groceries, and tried plenty of foods and candies. The groups had no problem being social, especially with the help of our blessed volunteer glimpser-translators. Big love!
The group met up and headed to the hotel at 5:00 pm. Trip evaluations, a continuation of phone calls, or just chilling and chatting were the pass-times of the glimpsers before dinner. Dinner was quesadillas, chips, y salsa, with a strawberry juice or water to drink, and fruit. The Global Glimpse CEOs Eliza, Harry, J.P, and P.J gave our group a visit and officially introduced themselves at our nightly meeting, where Daniel and Sasha played and sang a beautiful Spanish song for the talent show, and were more than worthy for the bestowing torch of tomorrow’s Leader of the Day from me and Priscilla.
The night has been ended with a soccer game inspired by the England-Spain match, with an England loss of 2-1.
