Hi, my name is Hunter I’m one of the glimpsers and I was one of the leaders of the day. Today was focused on rest and giving everyone a break from the busy schedule. We started out by having a late wake-up so people got to sleep in some. Then, we had an open breakfast that people could come to whenever they were ready. We then had some free time where some people played games and some got some rest. After a few hours of that, we all got some good lunch. After lunch, we all went downtown to go to different stores and bought all kinds of snacks and clothes. It was very fun! We then went along the coastline and got some ice cream, coconuts, and Empanadas. We then came back and had some game time / free time and then had our dinner. Before I go I wanted to say that I think I can speak for all of us Glimpsers by saying that we all really appreciate all the comments everyone leaves on the posts because many of us see them almost every day.
Hey, my name is Kyla one of the many glimpsers and the other leader of the day!!! Today was about taking time for ourselves and doing what we thought we needed to do for the day to take a well-needed break from all the hard work we have done so far. Today started off with us doing an optional wake-up starting for some people at 8 AM or 8:30 AM and then we woke up everyone else around 8:45 AM which is a huge difference from our usual 7 AM wake-up. Then from 9 to 10, we had a lax breakfast with the choices of toast, cheese, scrambled eggs, fruit, cereal, and juice. After breakfast, we had free time where we could play games, take a nap, call home, and do laundry. After some free time, we had a joint lunch which consisted of rice, beans, and fried chicken, and the vegetarians had rice, beans, plantains, and mixed vegetables. When lunch wrapped up we headed downtown where we got to hang out and go to the market and buy stuff of our choosing such as clothes, snacks, and souvenirs. After we left the market we walked to the park and went to the souvenir shop to buy gifts for people back home then got back on the bus to get ice cream and coconut water by the coast which was quite peaceful. After staying by the cost for a bit some of us got back on the bus to the accommodation and the others went to go get empanadas before walking back to the accommodation as the empanada place wasn’t very far from our accommodation. For us who went back to the accommodation right away had free time where we play card games, napping, or play volleyball outside and when the people who got empanadas got back they joined in on the activity of their choosing. After some more free time, we had dinner which was build-your-own hamburger night which I think we all really enjoyed. When dinner wrapped up we had our nightly meeting where we passed the torch to the next leaders of the day and then had some more free time. Before I sign out I would just like to say to all the parents, friends, and family who read these blogs that it is such a pleasure to be with all these amazing people on this trip and we appreciate all the comments that you guys leave for us!!!!

Happy to hear you are keeping up with us. Also I wish you luck at a new school. Could you provide some more details on this ant colony? Could you remove it by combining 2 shorter people instead of me given the distance? Or could you just ship your shelf to the DR so I can use my height to remove it myself. Also be careful because they might be fire ants if they are red and that could be bad. Not that you can tell which color is red. – Yours Truly, Hunter
