Today was an adventurous day full of ups and downs. Literally, as we went on an early morning hike to Las Trillizas. After a 30-minute hike through the rainforest, we were finally able to see and hear the true beauty of nature, 3 beautiful waterfalls that felt surreal. We were able to experience going for a quick swim and capturing beautiful moments with our fellow Glimpsers. For instance, helping each other get comfortable with the water and helping each other stay afloat. The water felt refreshing and cooling. Between the sounds of the water and the sensation of the water felt like true freedom. Even though the hike back up was challenging for some people it was still a moment of beauty as we took part in 5 minutes of silence that allowed us to enjoy the real sounds of the rainforest: the birds, insects, snakes, and more. Getting closer and closer we were able to hear the strong amazing sounds of the waterfall. This is a moment we will cherish forever.
Once we got back we had our CAP Seminar 2. It consisted of getting into 4 groups of 5 and we created proposals to best support the local elementary school of Turrialba, Eslabon. Afterward, we brainstormed for 30 minutes about the limitations, equipment, safety precautions, and more. We then put all these proposals together and made a big one to synthesize all of our ideas into one big final action plan. We are now excited to help Eslabon and so are they since they have been waiting for this big moment.
Today was definitely a FUN DAY!!!
