Hello families!
Today was our beach day! We started the day with a ham and cheese sandwich and orange juice. We then all gathered to go to the beach. We walked there and as soon as we got there we all ran into the ocean to have a fun time. We played volleyball, raced in the sand, and searched for sea glass and shells. While at the beach some street vendors brought souvenirs for us to purchase such as necklaces, bracelets, scarves, shirts, wood sculptures, and magnets. Some of the vendors even braided the girls’ hair. After two hours at the beach, we went back to the base house and got in the pool to clean off and relax. Then we had lunch where we ate rice with some chicken, avocado, beans, pasta salad, and some fruits. We packed to get ready to head back to Constanza. When we got back we had to prepare for our CAP presentation and presented to Ramon Ferrera who is the leader of the community center. Once that was done we had some dinner of plantains and chicken fingers. After our nightly meeting, we had some downtime and will be off to bed soon to prepare for the first day of our CAP day tomorrow!

Sounds like a fun day! It looks like a beautiful beach. I didn’t realize that you were spending the night somewhere else. Is this true? I hope it was nice. Nevin I’m sure that you were excited about the chicken fingers.
Nevin, I was messaging with Willa tonight. They said “I miss Nevin.” They want you to leave the Dominican so that you can come home and hangout with them. I said that that would probably not happen. They wanted me to tell you anyway. They would like you to bring a gift home for them. They said that they like gifts. I said that I would relay this message. Tomorrow night I will be picking mom up at the airport. It will be nice to have her home. It’s been very lonely without the two of you. I hope that you’re reading these messages. I’m not sure if you are.

Fun Day sounds aptly named. Would love to have a video of that last picture posted above–the presentation. I salivate at every mention of platanos. Be sure to remember how they are prepared there, DR style.

How far is the beach from Constanza? Looks like a lovely day of sun & water & fresh air! Was Ramon excited about your CAP proposal for the community center? What is the name of the green fruit in the photo & what kinds of fruits are served at meals? Felix- I hope you went shopping for all your family members while on the beach ? !
