Day 9: Fun Day at the Beach

Hola a todas las familias y amigos! (Hello to all families and friends!)

Today I, Angela Zambrano, was the Lider del Dia, The theme for the day was “fun day” In which  we did something we hadn’t before and just had a great time. We began the day eating breakfast which was pancakes, eggs, and fruit. After that we got all of our things ready to have a good day at the beach.

We got on the bus and left and before we knew it we were at the beautiful Juan Dolio Beach.  The majority of us jumped into the warm clear water immediately where we swam, waded, floated, and played games (mermaids) while others enjoyed the clean white sand and played volleyball.   A couple hours later we left and went to a nearby restaurant where we ate pizza and talked with one another. Soon after, they gave us options if we wanted to go back to the beach or go get ice cream and go to Iberia to shop for a while, we went for the second option.

Back in San Pedro some of us went to get ice cream at Bon then we went to the store and shopped for about an hour.  When we returned to the accomodation we all showered, called home, and prepared for our project seminar. All of us came together and worked on our presentation on how we were going to execute the plan to Don Roberto, the one of the leaders of the community at Monte Coco. During that time we collaborated and presented our plan for the Community Action Project which will begin tomorrow!

Continuing with that we had dinner which was mashed potatoes, rice, fried cheese, salad and fresh fruits. To finish the day the day we had our nightly meeting. I learned that it is a bit of responsibility and that I need to step up more when ever I have to take this leadership position. Overall, it was an amazing day that we all enjoyed and connected with one another. Good luck to tomorrows leader Diana and Norma!
