DÍA 11 – Community Action Project #2

¡Hola familia y amigos!

This is Lynne and Anjali, reporting from Costa Rica!

Today was the second day of the CAP project! We progressed further with our project by painting the fences and floors, as well as shoveling unnecessary debris.

We woke up everyone bright and early with “Work” by Rihanna to set the tone for the day at 6 am. After our noisy wake-up call, we had a scrumptious breakfast consisting of banana pancakes, eggs, and fruit. We then hurried our way to the Santa Rosa School around 8 am. Upon arrival, we talked and played with the kids during break time, which put a smile on all of our faces. Lynne had the opportunity to teach Japanese to some of the students, catching their attention! Afterwards, we were divided into groups with different tasks and responsibilities. Some were busy coating the fences with silver paint, while others pulled out weeds and rocks from the field.

In the afternoon, the rain made an appearance, forcing us to change our plans. We cleaned and painted the school ground with a rich green color. By the time we returned home, we were drenched from the heavy rain. While most of us were astonished by the amount of rain, Mila and Daniel were not fazed at all. According to them, this was “medium” rain in Costa Rica.

At night, the local coffee maker delivered us some rich coffee beans and grounds. ¡Gracias al Señor de café!

Now, we pass the torch to Brannagh and Isabella. We would also like to give a shout-out to Brannagh’s mom, Jenny.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM, sorry I wasn’t there for your birthday, but I hope you had the greatest day, love you” (From Brannagh)

We wish them the best of luck! <3

¡Adiós y tengan un buen día!
-Lynne y Anjali

Thank you for the birthday shout out all the way from Costa Rica! I definitely feel the love ?
It was so nice to hear Brannagh’s voice today as well she she was able to make a quick call home.
Your CAP sounds so awesome and fulfilling! I love the colors you are using, and how cool that Lynne was able to teach the kids some Japanese.
Can’t wait to hear more tomorrow.

Wow! I love what you all are doing at the school — color makes a big difference, right? Keep the words & photos coming! (Looking forward to tomorrow when Ms. B and Isabella take the blog!)
