Free Day (No. 2)

Hello Glimpser’s loved ones!

As the “lideres del dia” we woke up everyone at 9 am for the morning wake-up call. The staff prepared an amazing breakfast as usual that consisted of oatmeal, hot chocolate, eggs, bread, and juice. Today we took a free day to relax and get to know each other better as not only a delegation but as a community.

After breakfast, we all had free time until lunch which consisted of lentils, rice, pork, vegetables, avocado, and plantains. After lunch, our amazing driver Kelvin took us to the supermarket in his guagua (bus). We all split into groups of five and bought ourselves an assortment of things such as trinkets, snacks, and jewelry. After shopping we met up as a group back in Kelvin’s guagua and headed to the ice cream shop where we all had some delicious Dominican ice cream.

When we came back to home base from our outing we had some more free time. As a group, we are really coming together and we as Global Glimpser’s came together as a community and organized a pool hangout! After our pool hangout, we got ready for dinner and had some delicious BBQ chicken, rice, pasta, bread, and fruit!

As Global Glimpse student leaders we are really appreciative of the bonds that have been created over the past couple of days and how everyone is making an effort to get to know not only each other but the GG staff and community.
