Fun Day!!! (No. 7)

El Guapo (Sergeant Calvin)

Yooo so today we woke up and had rice, beans, and fruit for breakfast. That meal was complemented with bread. For our mental warm-up, we played a categories game but with the ball. Surprisingly El Guapo didn’t win. We hiked to a waterfall named Las Trillizas. El Guapo was in front of the line when we hiked there. (I promise I wasn’t scared and I promise I´m not lying). Of course, we rode a bus to the location and then we hiked on the trail to get to the waterfall. The hike was a nice little 10 minutes going there and most of the soldiers entered the water. El Guapo was forced into the water. El Guapo was not happy. We hiked back up from the waterfall and the hike was much faster since everyone had the hang of it. We ate lunch there, not everyone had the same thing for lunch. Sergeant El Guapo and his fellow soldiers rode the bus back to the base house and we had our next seminar. It prepared us for our mission at the school in Santa Rosa. El Guapo will be a really important soldier. After that, we had our ping pong competition. El Guapo lost in the second round. Our winner was Private Armando. El Guapo was fine with that. For dinner, we ate rice, chickpea soup, salad, and juice. Today we learned that it is very possible to create sustainable tourism in a less affluent country. (That was the question of the day). Having fun at the waterfall proved that it is very possible to create just great memories in places that are different from the countries in which our soldiers reside. Pura Vida

Hola! Today I was Lider del Dia and to start the morning we ate some breakfast which was delicioso. Then we played a quick game before leaving for our destination. We went to a beautiful waterfall called Las Trillizas Waterfall which was definitely one of the biggest challenges yet but worth it as we got to see an amazing view of the waterfall, and some people got to swim in the waterfall. I was sure pushed out of my comfort zone today with the hike because many of us had not been on a hike like that. But after the hike, we had a really good lunch near the waterfall. After that, we headed back to the base house, where we had our meeting about the CAP project at the school in the community. We also had a ping pong competition which was very fun to watch and see how close all of us have gotten with each other… and see the competitive side of people! Then we had dinner and our nightly meeting where we talked about how to create sustainable tourism in less affluent countries and the difference between a tourist and a traveler. Today was a very fun yet informative day creating amazing memories that will last us a lifetime.

Erin, Bri, and the PCs will continue to post pictures in our Google folder. To see pictures from any day, here’s the link.

Hi Olivia!
Hope you and the entire group had a great Thursday! Got good news Trap Golf is donating 50 cool mini packets of tees and ball markers and bracelets for your Diversify Golf camp. They’re in the mail. Jared is going to mentor 4 of 6 days and is going to try and get some sponsorship money to pay for t-shirts ???.
