Hey guys, it’s Shania and Gabby. We were the Leaders of the Day today. The theme today was Global & Local Business. To start off the day, we visited a coffee plantation. There we learned about the coffee harvesting and production process. We got caught in the rain and ran to a quiet spot with some awesome views of the town. Afterward, we headed back to the main house to eat lunch. From there we headed to the cheese farm where we learned about the Turrialba artisan cheese and the cows it came from. We separated into two groups and competed with a few challenges. First, one from each group was quizzed on the types of grasses we learned about, and then another from each group milked a cow to see who acquired the most milk. Team Spots won the first two rounds. Then we picked another person from each group to make cheese with the milk we squeezed. We later played hot potato but every time the cow plush (the potato) landed on someone, they had to answer and earn points for their team. Team Pura Vida won the last two rounds and earned the most points for the day. We headed back on the bus for dinner back at the accommodation which was Arroz con Frijoles y ensalada. We presented our new leaders of the day for tomorrow and they performed their talents for the rest of us. Luis and Aniza sang a duet, Bryan did a planche pose and Janet showed her sticker collection. Overall today turned out to be a long but enjoyable education day.
