¡Hola a todos!

Hello to all our Global Glimpsers and families! My name is Maria Figueroa and I will be one of your Global Glimpse Leaders (GGLs) joining you on your trip to Costa Rica.

This is my first trip with Global Glimpse, but not my first time traveling abroad. I am an avid traveler and have been traveling since I was 3 months old (or so my family tells me) to Antigua, Guatemala, home to my mom’s side of the family. I also had the privilege and pleasure to study abroad to Seoul, South Korea my junior year in college and since then have traveled to Korea two more times (also visited Thailand during one of those trips) and have an upcoming trip this summer! Aside from traveling, I enjoy cooking, working out, and trying out new restaurants.

I currently work as a 9th and 12th grade math teacher at Noble Street College Prep. As a high school teacher, I recognize there is only so much a student can learn in the classroom, so I am hopefully that each of you will learn more about leadership, responsibility, advocacy, and compassion as you immerse yourself in a global setting. I am so excited to share this experience with you all and hope that this trip will help each of you find the beauty of traveling.
