¡Hola! Time to get excited!

Hello Glimpsers and Families!

My name is Nicole and I will be one of your Global Glimpse Leaders (GGLs) for your trip to Turrialba, Costa Rica from July 7-20, 2023. As a GG alumna (Nicaragua, 2015) myself, I am so excited to embark on this journey as a GGL and have the chance to learn and grow with all of you!

A little about myself: I am an educator, currently working as an Assistant Preschool Teacher for preschoolers with special needs. I’ve studied Spanish and have continued to practice it for over 10 years now (could not believe the time!). I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to and learn about Nicaragua, Spain, Italy, Greece, and Argentina, and now am super excited about Costa Rica!

My time as a Glimpser left me with some unforgettable memories I still cherish to this day. I have so much I could share (feel free to ask me more in person!), but I’ll mention a few tips for now:

  • If you’re someone who knows you’ll get homesick, do yourself a favor and bring some reminders from home like a favorite snack, some printed photos, and some handwritten notes from loved ones.
  • There will be so much to soak in on the trip: I’d recommend writing 2-3 goals you have for the trip. What do you want to get out of this experience?
  • Bring along a card game or two – these can help you get to know your other Glimpsers and have some fun!
  • Pack light and save room for any souvenirs or mementos you want to bring back.

Bay Area Students: See you all at the domestic Terminal 3 at SFO at the United Check-In area no later than 4:40 am PST on Friday, July 7th.

Boston Students: Please arrive at Boston Logan International Airport by 4:40 am EST on Friday, July 7th. Your first flight flies independently and then we will meet up with you at Houston George Bush International Airport at the gate for the next flight.

Looking forward to the grand adventure!
