I’m Ready, Are You Ready?

Helloo! My name is Mayra Santacruz. I am transitioning from 11 to 12 grade, At Animo Watts College Preparatory Academy. Located at Los Angeles California. Things about myself, I’m a super panda lover!! They are so cute and soft. Who wouldn’t love them? I’m also a person who likes to play board games. I always play with my family, Sometimes I will have a family game night and to tell you it sometimes gets pretty wild, especially with my siblings. But anyway, I am from a Mexican household, yes I have another 4 siblings, and a family size of 7. One of my favorite dishes is shrimp ceviche, it contains fresh shrimp marinated with cucumber, red onions, cilantro, and lime with toasted tortilla (tostadas). It is really delicious and fresh, it hits right when you eat it on a very hot summer day. I am a person who loves to watch movies, in the category of comedy and k-drama/romance.

I applied to Global Glimpse because when they mentioned leadership skills, I was intrigued. I want to be able to develop more of those skills. Honestly, I am not very much of a talker, I struggle sometimes to be able to go out there and speak up and lead on my own. But I hope in this experience I am looking forward to be able to break that barrier and lead myself to where I want to be. Meet and make new friends. I am happy and thankful that Global Glimpse gave me the chance and was given the opportunity to embrace more of my skills! I can’t wait to meet everyone on this trip!
