Saludos, fellow travelers to Ecuador! We are your surrogate parents, Alfonsina and Corlin (Corlin introduced himself in a previous post) for our 14-day excursion to Riobamba, Ecuador from July 6 – August 19. We’re excited about our upcoming trip, which starts by meeting YOU at Newark Airport at 8:45 a.m. on July 6th. Your family and friends will be able to see what you’re up to during your trip if you send them the link to this blog. We’ll be giving you a call in the coming week but let us first introduce ourselves…
Alfonsina (she/her): I am a native Spanish speaker that works as an ENL teacher, 12th-grade team leader (therefore, the senior activities coordinator), and yearbook advisor at The Laboratory School of Finance and Technology in the South Bronx. Ecuador is such a beautiful country and I cannot wait for you to experience it! This is my second year traveling with GG, however, I have taken students abroad for almost a decade to Germany, Spain, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica through my school and other organizations. I have traveled to 19 countries and 5 continents. I think that traveling is so important for us to gain global perspectives, understand ourselves, and discover our places in the world. I also love reading, writing, designing, crocheting, playing Wordle (and other games), and spending time with my family and friends. I can’t wait to hear about your interests and passions too! Looking forward to meeting you all!
Big Love, Alfonsina
