Its Raining Cats and Dogs!

This is Fatima and Gerson, ready to share our day as the Leaders of the Day and workers of the community!

This morning, we ate a hearty breakfast of eggs, toast, and hot chocolate. This fruitful meal was put to good use as the Glimpsers headed onto the small community of Arenaso.  We then put our muscles to use and began working on the cement to fill the floors of the home of a local man named Domingo. During this, the team seemed unified compared to yesterday’s community work. We, as a team, managed to finish the majority of the work before lunchtime, giving us time to talk, share, and enjoy with the local people of the community. Once done with the work, we headed back to Dilenia where we enjoyed a nice lunch together; rice, beans, and beef!

After lunch, we went back to the workplace and began the next part of our community action project. Unfortunately, we could not get the work done as we anticipated, as there was a torrential downpour during work hours. This however did not stop us, but instead, it unified the team even more as we bonded further inside our cold, but cozy makeshift shelter. The team then prevailed through the harsh rain, which then was rewarded with the necessary free time for all of their hard work. After free time, the glimpsers headed to the dinner tables which awaited them a nice hot plate of carbonara, with a side of seasoned bread and some greens.

Thank you everyone for reading, and look out for tomorrow for the next Leaders of the Day!
