Learning and Serving the Yaque!!

Hello everyone! Today we’re going to tell you guys about our day “Community Day”! We woke up at the crack of dawn, 6:00 am, we had breakfast at 7:00 am. We left at 8:30 am to El Sonido del Yaque,  a community where we went to experience everyday life. We helped with their dishes, sweeping, and hanging up their washed clothes for 3 hours then had lunch at 12 pm. We got a short tour of the whole community from the nodal native leader named Esperanza. Afterward, we had a comforting meal that locals prepared for us that filled our hearts with sabor y amor.

Soon after that, the Glimpsers changed up and went down to the local river and had a fresh swim with locals. Many of us took awesome pictures with crabs that a local crab hunter handed to us to keep. Soon after we dried off and walked up to the safari truck. We got a breezy ride back to home base down a windy road. We all had some downtime once we arrived and got into our reflection groups and spoke about what our thoughts on the community. We had our program seminar to talked about some exciting things going on throughout the week! We had dinner, very delicious! We had our nightly meeting and headed off to sleep after a very busy day.

From Ale: I miss you mami, Yana, & brother.

From Jeremy- I miss you mom and dad and Feliz dia de los Padres Pa
